In 1994, after 25 years of basement practice, original founding member and rhythm guitarist Mike Uzan finally found the courage to form a fledgling group that was to become The Fabulous Flashbacks. Almost 14 years and numerous line-up changes later, Uzan and the boys are still rolling.

 

Members now include bassist Lee Scouten and lead guitarist Gary Overall, who together, for many years, were the driving force behind the popular Montreal band, Hartford Baby Grande, during their glory days. Scouten has also played with the renowned Pops Merrily Band, which once opened for Grand Funk at the old Montreal Forum, while Overall was cranking it out at the Grand Opening of the Montreal Playboy Club with R & B Funk Band Harrison Tabb & The Body of Soul. Uzan, Overall and Scouten have now been together 11 solid years. The latest addition has been all-star powerhouse drummer Michel Tordjman, a local legend who has played with Montreal bands Zipper, Magoo, Champagne, Taza and Pirate, to name just a few, over a period of three decades. Put these four guys together, toss in a little sweat, broken strings, blisters, and a whole lotta love and you get the New and Improved Fabulous Flashbacks.

 

More recently, The Fabulous Flashbacks opened for The Stampeders at the 2007 Brockville Riverfest, and also played on the same stage as Hedley at the 2008 Brockville Riverfest.

The four all grew up in the Montreal area during the late 50s to early 60s, listening to The Beatles, The Stones, Chuck Berry, James Brown, Little Richard, The Temptations, The Beach Boys, The Four Tops, The Doobie Brothers, The Eagles... you get the idea... the list is endless. Endless, like the astonishing number of hits churned out during the most magical era that rock and roll has ever, and will ever, experience.
